Inter-campus sports competition

Inter-campus sports competition

A few weeks ago, EF Academy Torbay students went to New York to compete in a sports competition against EF Academy New York. This year we came with vengeance to try and win for 2017.

We flew all the way from the UK to the US and we were all very excited to go to New York. We started the first day with  some ice-breakers and dodgeball followed with cross country and badminton.

Carla(IGCSE) won the girls badminton and Diego(A Levels) won the cross country. The second day we had basketball and volleyball.

Although we lost on both games, we still had fun and make new friends. We also had ultimate frisbee and football match which the New York students won again.

We didn’t just stay at school for the whole day. We went to play bowling and to the arcade which is a lot of fun and we got to know each other even more. We also got the chance to watch an NBA basketball game( Brooklyn Nets vs Phoenix Suns) in the Barclays Centre which is a great experience too.

On the weekends, us Torbay students went to the city to go sightseeing and shopping. We went on a ferry cruise to see the Statue of Liberty. It was windy but the view was amazing. We also went to the top of the rock where we took loads of pictures together. We also got some free time around Times Square to do the most exciting part of the trip, shopping!

Even though we didn’t win, this only fuels the competition for next year! Look out New York we’ll be back!
