Discovering finance at my internship with Hult

Hi everyone! My name is Gianluigi and I am an IB, year-one student at EF Academy Oxford. I found out about my internship at EF thanks to my university counselor. I was really excited about getting work experience which could help me for my university application and also understand a little bit better the world of work.

I got placed in London working for the Hult Business School in the finance department. For almost one month, I gained new knowledge in the area of business and counting; as I have never studied these subjects at school before. Even though I have never had any interest in this area, I improved many skills in organization, accuracy and, moreover, I have learned how to manage time at work.

My co-workers, who were from every part of the world (a fact I loved), helped me a lot in explaining how a big school and company works. From this internship, I have definitely developed my strengths and weaknesses. Although I have realized that finance is certainly not in my future, I am now sure of what I want to do in my life and I think this is another good reason for this experience!
