Let’s meet the teachers – Sibo

My name is Sibongiseni, and I am from The City of Gold, Johannesburg. I grew up in a small town called Pietermaritzburg which is on the southeast coast of South Africa. I come from a family of nurses and medical practitioners, and they taught me at an early age that education is important. This is why I decided to pursue a career as an educator myself. I have been teaching English with EF for 8 months now, and it has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life.

I have been teaching English online for about 5 years now. I started teaching as a part-time job while I was studying, and I have been teaching online ever since. My students vary in age and level, but they all have one thing in common: they want to learn English! I love teaching because it gives me the opportunity to help people learn a new language and become more confident in their everyday lives.

I believe that every student has potential, and my job is to help them reach that goal. I love teaching adults because they are so eager to learn and so full of enthusiasm! It is wonderful to see how much progress they make during their lessons with me.

I always tell my students that English is a language that allows them to communicate with people all over the world. It opens doors and provides opportunities that would otherwise not be made available to them.

As a teacher, I try my best to make sure that every student leaves my class feeling confident about their language skills so they can go out into the world ready to conquer anything!

I believe that when you are teaching someone something new, it is important to be able to relate with them on a personal level. So, when I am in class, I allow my students to be themselves and talk about the things they love. You will be surprised how well they can express themselves!

When I am not teaching English? Well… let’s just say that my hobbies are a lot more interesting than most people’s!
