Relatando desejos, intenções e promessas

Para formular uma intenção, desejo ou promessa no estilo indireto, utilizamos um verbo declarativo apropriado seguido por uma oração iniciada por "that" que inclua o termo "would', ou ainda uma oração iniciada por infinitivo com "to". Os verbos utilizados nesse padrão incluem "hope", "promise", "threaten", "guarantee" e "swear". Note que o termo "that" é opcional, como demonstra o primeiro exemplo a seguir.

"Give me the keys to the safe or I'll shoot you!" he shouted.	He threatened to shoot me if I didn't give him the keys to the safe. OU He threatened that he would shoot me if I didn't give him the keys to the safe.
"I will not tell anyone your secret" he said.	He swore that he would not tell anyone my secret. OU He swore not to tell anyone my secret.
