EF Stories: Jacopo from Italy at EF Santa Barbara

We asked our students to share their experiences: What did they enjoy most about their time abroad? Which activities did they take part in? What advice do they have for those who are about to embark on a similar journey? Here's what they shared with us!
EF Stories: Jacopo from Italy at EF Santa Barbara

Hello, I'm Jacopo, and this summer I embarked on a journey with EF from Rome to Santa Barbara, California. I spent three amazing weeks there with a fantastic group of friends I met on the trip. I had the opportunity to meet people from all corners of the globe, making it an unforgettable experience.

In Santa Barbara, the locals welcomed me with open arms, and the city's vibes were absolutely fantastic. It felt like living in a movie. I had a great time with my fellow travelers – we went dancing, attended EF parties, and made memories that will last a lifetime.

We engaged in numerous activities both with our fellow students and the EF school. Together, we explored the Santa Barbara Mission, played beach volleyball on the shore, and tried our hand at surfing. It was my first time, and although I had a few falls, I eventually managed to stand on the board for a few seconds. It was truly magical to have the ocean and the entire city skyline surrounding me. It was an incredible experience, one of the most exhilarating moments I've ever had, alongside our journey's beginning.

This experience undoubtedly contributed to my personal growth. I learned to coexist with people from diverse cultures and gained a sense of independence. I am certain that I'll embark on this journey again, perhaps in Miami to relive my American dream, or even in Sydney, Australia, a place that has always fascinated me, where I might even have the chance to surf.
