English Courses in New York

Enroll in our English courses in New York and get access to a world-class city while benefiting from the traditional campus experience.

EF’s English courses in New York are situated on our traditional American campus, offering students proximity to the bustle of Manhattan in a calm, tree-lined setting. Our language school allows EF’s students to catch their breath and study English in a small-town on the shores of the Hudson River.

EF New York is located a short train ride from the bright lights of Times Square. The 25-acre campus features historic brick buildings and expansive green spaces, just like you’d find studying at a major American university. Our language school campus supplements English courses with a full university library, several student lounges, a fitness center and a 6-lane swimming pool.

The City that Never Sleeps

The energy of New York City is intense; honking yellow cabs swerve through Midtown traffic, commuters flood in and out of Grand Central Station, and the scent of fresh New-York pizza spills onto the streets of Little Italy. New York City is experienced and not just visited.

Students in our English courses in New York arrive from around the globe and quickly find themselves strolling across the Brooklyn Bridge, climbing into the crown of the Statue of Liberty and struggling to frame the imposing Manhattan skyline in their camera’s viewfinder. The New York experience doesn’t end at the famous tourist sites, as EF students make time between their English lessons for fashion shows, Broadway plays and walks through Greenwich Village. For our students, ‘I Love NY’ is more than just a t-shirt slogan.

Student life in New York

New York has it all. Whether you’re looking for the excitement of a Yankees baseball game, the designer shopping of 5th avenue, the grandeur of a Broadway show or the thrill of taking snapshots from atop the Empire State Building, EF New York’s full-time activities coordinators have you covered.

Sightseeing & CultureShoppingSports & OutdoorsExcursionsEntertainment & Nightlife
Start at Midtown Manhattan’s Grand Central Station, just a few blocks from the bright lights of Times Square and Broadway’s world-famous theaters. Hop in an iconic yellow cab and head to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where European masterpieces grace gallery walls. Crane your neck to view the top or the Chrysler Building or look at the Brooklyn Bridge and symbolic Statue of Liberty. And that’s just day one.
Manhattan is home to countless shopping opportunities, from Midtown’s word-renowned department stores of Macy’s, Saks 5th Avenue and Barney’s to SoHo’s independently-run fashion boutiques. Take advantage of the daily shuttle service from the EF campus to the Palisades Center Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the United States.
With two professional teams in every major American sport, New Yorkers always have something to cheer for. A visit to Madison Square Garden is a must for any sports fan. Active students will marvel at the possibilities on our wooded 25 acre campus, where jogging trails, sports fields and our 6-lane indoor swimming pool are just steps from EF classrooms.
On the weekends, EF’s activities coordinators plan trips to neighboring cities and sites. Visit the historic metropolises of Philadelphia, Boston and Washington DC and get a taste of the Canadian lifestyle in Toronto and Montreal. You’ll have the chance to stand in the mist of Niagara Falls, an unforgettable experience.
New York has been dubbed ‘the city that never sleeps’ for a reason. Dance the night away at celebrity-filled nightclubs in the Meatpacking district. Stand front row at your favorite band’s concert at the Bowery Ballroom. Or stay on campus for EF’s frequent student parties.
