1 lecture (double lesson) either by a teacher or guest lecturer for listening comprehension practice and cultural development.

English
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
TOEFL measures the listening, reading and writing skills of non-native English speakers. It is administered as either a written exam or a computer-based exam, and a satisfactory TOEFL score is acceptable proof of proficiency for admission to most English-language universities, especially in the US and Australia.
Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)
TOEIC is used to evaluate the English proficiency of non-native speakers in a range of academic and business environments. A satisfactory TOEIC score is acceptable proof of proficiency for admission to most community colleges in the US.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
A comprehensive English language test taken by students who plan to study at English-language universities. Accepted by many universities in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
Competency in English at the lower intermediate level. PET measures the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills needed for basic social and work situations. Not acceptable proof of proficiency for university study.
Competency in English at the upper intermediate level. FCE measures the reading, writing, listening, speaking and usage skills needed for a variety of practical situations. Not acceptable proof of proficiency for university study.
Competency in English at the advanced level. CAE measures the reading, writing, listening, speaking and usage skills necessary for real-world communication. Acceptable proof of proficiency for admission to most English-language universities, especially in the UK.
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Competency in English at the academic proficiency level. CPE measures the reading, writing, listening, speaking and usage skills necessary for an excellent command of English. Acceptable proof of proficiency for admission to most English-language universities, especially in the UK.
EF Standard English Test (EFSet)
Competency in English, from lower intermediate to advanced. EFSet measures reading comprehension and writing in English. Used to evaluate the English proficiency of non-native speakers in a range of academic and business environments.
French
Le Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française (DELF)
The DELF exam can be taken at 4 different levels ranging from a basic knowledge of French (DELF A1) to an advanced level where the user has a higher degree of independence and fluency in using the language (DELF B2).
Le Diplôme Approfondi en Langue Française (DALF)
An exam for students at a highly advanced level. Consists of written and oral comprehension and expression in a specialized language from candidate's chosen discipline. Offered at 2 different levels, the most advanced (DALF C2) level ensure students are capable of using the language for academic and advanced level purposes. People who have passed the DALF (C1 or C2) are exempt from taking language tests for entrance into French universities.
Certificat Européen de Langue Française (Certificat de Français)
The Certificat de Français is a European language certificate originally created by the International Certificate Conference. European language certificates are internationally recognized for European language standards. The Certificat measures written and oral comprehension and expression.
Test de Connaissance de Français (TCF)
TCF is the French Education Ministry's test of French language ability. It is a language placement test for non-native speakers of French who wish to obtain a simple, effective and precise evaluation of their general language skills for professional or personal reasons. TCF has 3 required components; Listening comprehension, Language structures, Reading comprehension and 2 optional components; Speaking test and Written expression. Test scores provide an accurate benchmark of the candidate's language ability using the six-level proficiency scale of the Council of Europe. Each candidate is awarded a certificate with their test score and a grading system thereby giving potential employers and education authorities a guide to the certificate holder's ability to understand and communicate in French.
German
Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache (CEF B1)
This exam tests for basic competency in conversational German in everyday situations. Emphasis is placed on reading and listening comprehension, written and oral expression, structure and vocabulary. It is accepted worldwide as proof of basic German language proficiency.
Zertifikat Deutsch fur den Beruf (CEF B1-B2)
Same level of competency as the ZDF plus certifies basic proficiency in business German. It is accepted worldwide as proof of basic German language proficiency.
Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung (CEF C1)
Tests grammar, reading, listening, writing (letter writing) and speaking (monologue and interaction) related to general vocabulary. Accepted by Swiss universities as proof of German proficiency.
TestDaF (CEF C1/C2)
Test of reading, listening (multiple choice comparable to TOEFL) writing (essay) and speaking skills related to the academic field (to be spoken on cassettes). German language universities worldwide accept this a proof of German proficiency.
Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (CEF C2)
Advanced level in written and oral expression as well as an understanding of regional variations of German. The test measures reading comprehension, text analysis, expression and understanding of German literature. German language universities worldwide accept this as proof of German proficiency.
Spanish
Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE)
The only exam for non-native Spanish speakers that is officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture. Split into 3 levels, it is aimed at those who want to work or study further in Spain.
Italian
DILIT-IH
Examinations are organised throughout the year for the following qualifications: DILIT-IH Basic Diploma, DILIT-IH Intermediate Diploma, DILIT-IH Advanced Diploma.
CILS Exam (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera)
The CLIS exam is divided into 4 levels and measures basic to advanced Italian proficiency. It is approved by the Council of Europe and conforms to the conventions provided by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Chinese
China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi , also known as HSK or the Chinese Proficiency Test, is a standardized test designed and developed by the HSK Center of Beijing Language and Culture University to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers of Chinese.
Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) Basic
The HSK Basic is appropriate for learners who have had 100 to 800 hours of formal education in modern Chinese, master 400 to 3,000 Chinese characters at the A and B levels of HSK Vocabulary , and understand corresponding Chinese grammar structures.
The HSK Elementary-Intermediate is appropriate for learners who have had 400 to 2,000 hours of formal education in modern Chinese, master 2,000 to 5,000 Chinese characters at the A, B, and C levels of HSK Vocabulary , and understand corresponding Chinese grammar structures. Intermediate Level C is required to apply to an undergraduate program in arts (e.g., Chinese literature, history, philosophy and traditional medicine) Elementary Level C is required apply to an undergraduate program in any other major.
Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) Advanced
The HSK Advanced is appropriate for learners who had 3,000 or more hours of formal education in modern Chinese, master 5,000 or more Chinese characters at A, B, C, and D levels of HSK Vocabulary , and understand corresponding Chinese grammar structures. Advanced Level C is the language requirement for entering a graduate program (representing Language Level 9).
