Do you enjoy travelling and the excitement of the planning process, then why not learn the logistics behind the tourist industry? You will learn about the industry from request to planning to face to face contact with tourists. The program combines the skills necessary for a successful travel industry venture as well as intensive Spanish lessons. You will perfect your language skills and learn the industry terminology. You will delve into a wide range of hospitality management topics, which include, designing package tours, the basics of guide book and leaflet creation, booking and confirming, negotiating with suppliers, conflict resolution as well as basic conversation skills. By the end of the programme you will have a solid foundation to begin working in the industry.

An internship to enhance your knowledge
EF provides you with an Internship Coordinator who will make sure to place you in an internship that is tailored to your interests and your dreams. They are available to support you during your internship and are available to answer all your questions. An internship will make your CV stand out and you will be able to use what you are learning in class in a practical setting. It will also give you the opportunity to perfect your language skills and really use the industry terminology you learn on a daily basis.
Explore your options, outside of class
Experiencing the culture, the history, the beauty of the city you are living in is a major part of your study abroad experience and the Activities Coordinator at your school is as keen in making it happen as you are in experiencing it. There is a weekly schedule of events which include trips to famous monuments, museums, team sports, karaoke and student parties. The staff is always available to answer questions about trips you may want to take on your own making it easy to venture out and explore.

14 general language lessons to build grammar and communication skills necessary for working in the international hotel & tourism industry, including teacherled discussions, presentations, written exercises, group work and role-plays.
10 lessons devoted to contemporary industry theories and practices, based on authentic materials used by renowned hotel and tourism schools. Prepare for your internship and if you desire prepare to take an internationally recognized language proficiency exam.
6 iLab sessions of interactive online learning, practicing all basic skills
1 lecture (double lesson) either by a teacher or guest lecturer for listening comprehension practice and cultural development.

Who can apply to the MSHT program?
EF’s MSHT is ideal for students who want to improve their Spanish fluency and prepare for a career in the hotel and tourism industry. -
Do students have to be at a particular level of Spanish before starting the program?
Due to the challenging nature of the course topics only students with intermediate Spanish skills may apply. Students who begin at a lower Spanish-level will first sharpen their Spanish skills in intensive language training classes, before joining the Master Spanish program. -
What is the recommended age for participants?
The program is recommended for students who are 18 - 30 years, mainly due to the fact that a certain level of maturity and experience is required in order to discuss the concepts and ideas. -
Are there any prerequisites for this program?
No. Anyone with a good command of Spanish and with a keen interest in Hotel & Tourism will be able to benefit from the program. -
What credentials will I receive after completing my MSHT?
Your MSHT diploma, combined with your internship certificate and your official exam results if you choose to take one, will ensure you are ready to advance in your career. Moreover, through our partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), EF MSHT students may be eligible to receive university credit for their coursework. -
What is the application fee and what is it used for?
There is a $45 application fee required for the Master English selection process. An additional $100 fee covers the normal administrative costs associated with enrolling in a long-term course abroad.
