School System

In China all students attend at least nine years of school. They either attend 5 years of primary school followed by 4 years of high school or 6 years of primary school followed by 3 years of high school. High school is attended until the age of 14-15, after that the continuing education at the age of 15-18 is cut into general or profession oriented branches. The students joining the EF High School Program in China will be attending this continuing education.

The compulsory subjects are Chinese, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Philosophy, Music, Art, Sports and Computer science. As elective subjects, students can choose Chinese culture, Electro technology, Computer installations and Gongfu. On top of that you have 3 Sport courses per week, where usually Soccer, Basket ball, Volley ball, Badminton and Ping Pong are offered. Music classes are also a part of the school plan.
