Laura and Jenna: EF Friends Forever

Laura and Jenna: EF Friends Forever

Laura’s roommate went to college with Jenna and connected both of them. As a Senior Trip Consultant for EF Ultimate Break, Laura knew what it took to be successful at sales and sensed Jenna’s personable and infectious energy would be great at it. Laura brought Jenna to one of EF Education First’s referral nights in Boston, and she became a Tour Consultant for EF Explore America—the rest is history! We caught up with Laura to see why she was so excited to bring Jenna to EF.

Q: How did you know Jenna was the right fit for EF?
A: When asking Jenna about her past experiences, I could tell that she was an extremely hard worker and wanted to succeed. However, her current role wasn’t providing her with much opportunity for growth and also wasn’t providing her with a culture she felt she could thrive in. EF is a company of hard working go-getters who also like to have a great time. I knew she would be a perfect fit for a sales role and this would be a company that she would want to grow with.

Q: What is your best EF memory or moment with Jenna?
A: When I met some of her coworkers—they came up to me and said “Are you the one who referred Jenna to us? Thank you! We love Jenna, and we can’t imagine our team without her.” A proud friend moment for sure!

Q: What EF core value does Jenna display most?
A: Passion. Give Jenna something she is passionate about and the sky’s the limit.

Q: How does Jenna make EF a better place to work?
A: Her positive energy and overall zest for life. Whenever you see Jenna or spend time with her, she immediately makes you feel as though she’s known you forever (probably why she also is a great salesperson!). Her positive energy and sense of humor make any team she’s on a better place to be.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at EF?
A: The people. Being able to work with such hardworking, positive and travel-obsessed individuals keeps me motivated every day. No matter where in the world you find yourself, the “EF” person is similar in any office you visit. I have met some of my best friends and mentors while working here, and continue to be inspired by my coworkers.

Q: What’s a key piece of advice you would give to a new EFer
A: Develop your network! There are so many great opportunities for you to get more involved at EF and network with people from other departments. Having a strong network will help set you up for success in your career and when opportunities open, your name just might be tossed around for your dream role.
