Spanish Courses in Costa Rica

(students and adults age 16 and older)
  • We offer general and intensive Spanish courses in Costa Rica at our intimate Playa Tamarindo school for adults and young adults.
  • Housed in a cozy colonial-style building, our school is just minutes from the beach and the city's commercial center.
  • The Spanish language school grounds include a private garden, swimming pool, and student residence as well as air-conditioned classrooms, a cafeteria and hammocks for relaxing on the deck.
  • Host families near the school are an alternative to the on-site student residences.
  • If you're outdoorsy, learn Spanish in Costa Rica so that you can zipline, surf, or go on a jungle adventure after class!
  • College Credits are available for students opting for a 4+ week language course.

No minimum GPA required to apply!

7:00 a.m.

Buenos días! Wake up in Playa Tamarindo

7:30 a.m.

Enjoy a traditional "tico" breakfast of gallo pinto with your host family

8:15 a.m.

The EF shuttle picks you up and brings you to the school

9:00 a.m.

Spanish lessons

10:00 a.m.

Conversation Lab

12:30 p.m.

Barbecue and relax with students and staff

1:30 p.m.

Spanish lessons and special interest class (Latin American slang)

3:00 p.m.

Horseback riding and snorkeling at Playa Conchal
