My typical day learning at EF

“This is just only one day in my not-so-typical life in America.”

Augustin Rivero, 17, Venezuela, EF Miami Beach

08:00-08:30
BREAKFAST IN CAFETERIA

I have breakfast in the cafeteria every morning. What do I like the most? I love the pancakes with bacon that they serve. It’s wonderful and so typical American!

09:00-10:40
ENGLISH GRAMMAR

This is the class that probably helps me the most. Funny, how EF teachers can turn a grammar lesson into an interesting activity. Class goes by before I know it!

11:00-11:40
ILAB

Today I work on my vocabulary that goes along with the unit that we are currently doing in class on cooking and food. I like that the iLab follows up on what we learn in class.

12:00-12:30
LUNCH TIME

This is my favorite part of the day. The cafeteria is packed with all my friends, so we usually make plans for the afternoon or evening. The weather is great today, so we’ll be at the beach.

12:30-16:00
AFTERNOON FREE-TIME

Since EF classes are in a block schedule some days we have classes all day, others just halfdays. Today, first I do my homework, then I go to the beach to play volleyball with friends.

17:30 -
EF EVENING ACTIVITY

It’s comedy night at EF! After dinner, we go as a group to the Miami Improv Comedy Club. Such nights out are a lot of fun. And, it takes a lot to understand jokes in English!
